XcelSurf Dakhla: Our Story
Hello, I'm Hamza, the founder and head coach of XcelSurf Dakhla.
First of all, thank you for taking the time to visit our website. I'm truly grateful to share a little of our story with you.
Like many great adventures, XcelSurf started in a simple way. I began by giving surf lessons to university classmates, colleagues and friends. Before long, travelers visiting Dakhla started asking me to teach them too. What began as a passion quickly became something much bigger.
At the very beginning, I only had two surfboards and two wetsuits. My father, may he rest in peace, believed in me and helped me buy that first equipment so I could start teaching. Looking at our surf school today, with all the boards and wetsuits we now have, always reminds me of those first days and how far we've come.
Over the next three years, I dedicated myself to improving as both a surfer and an instructor. My goal was never just to teach people how to stand on a board, but to help them enjoy the ocean, build confidence and create unforgettable memories in Dakhla.
One of the most important moments in this journey was meeting Mme Françoise Bastide, her son Aristote, and their wonderful family. We immediately shared the same vision. We wanted to offer visitors more than just surf lessons. Together, we wanted people to experience the true spirit of Dakhla through genuine hospitality, authentic local experiences and professional surf coaching.
Today, that vision has become reality. XcelSurf Dakhla is proudly based at Dar Tawarta, where our surf club welcomes guests from all over the world. From your accommodation and daily transport to surf lessons, guided surf trips and local recommendations, we work together to make every stay easy, personal and memorable.
XcelSurf Dakhla now is a local & mobile surf school in Dakhla, Morocco, offering professional surf lessons, surf coaching, guided surf trips and surfboard rentals for surfers of all levels. Whether you're catching your first wave or looking to improve your technique, our goal is to provide safe, personalized and enjoyable surfing experiences on the best waves around Dakhla.
